About Us
Our History
Metro Denver Partners has supported youth in the Denver community since 1968. As a result of being matched with a mentor, youth gain self-esteem and confidence, demonstrate higher achievement in school and take increased personal responsibility for their actions. To date, Metro Denver Partners has served more than 16,500 youth. In 1968 Bob Moffitt, a seminary student just out of the Peace Corps, and Bill Mitchell, a business leader, first developed the Partners model. The Partners Mentoring Association is now comprised of seven Partners affiliate across the state of Colorado, including the Denver office. Many mentoring partnerships maintain their relationships into adulthood. Bob Moffitt and Johnnie continue their long relationship – both with white hair and more than 15 grandchildren between the two.
